PATENT FILING IN DENMARK
Denmark is a sovereign state in Northern Europe, located Southwest of Sweden, South of Norway, and bordered to the South by Germany. The Patent Office of Denmark is Danish Patent and Trademark Office (DKPTO). Denmark joined WIPO in 1970. Denmark is popularly known for its recycling technologies in the world. With the high conversion rate of around 70-80% of the patent applications being granted, Denmark is attracting the world for the implementation of new technologies in Denmark. This is the reason for Denmark being ranked among the world’s most innovative countries. A patent can be filed in Denmark as any of the following formats:

Paris Convention based national entry.

PCT National Phase based national entry.
Publication of Denmark patents is done within 18 months of priority date.
Request for examination has to be made at the time of filing.
Annuity for 1’st to 3’rd year has to be paid by the end of 2’nd
year. Annuity for 4’th year onwards is to be paid after grant of the
Patent. Protection of the Patent is for 20 years from the International
Filing Date.
