Filing to Grant Procedure

STEP 1 : FILING

A patent can be filed in Denmark as any of the following formats:

  • Paris Convention based national entry.

  • PCT National Phase based national entry.

STEP 2 : PUBLICATION

Publication of Denmark patents is done within 18 months of priority date.

STEP 3 : EXAMINATION

Request for examination has to be made at the time of filing.

STEP 4 : GRANT

Annuity for 1’st to 3’rd year has to be paid by the end of 2’nd year. Annuity for 4’th year onwards is to be paid after grant of the Patent. Protection of the Patent is for 20 years from the International Filing Date.
