PATENT FILING IN IRAN
Iran joined Paris Convention in 1959 and is a member of WIPO since 2001. IRIPO is the intellectual property office for Iran. With the vision of globalization the patent filings, IRIPO has modified its intellectual property laws for better coordination and connectivity with other nations as well. IRPO strictly restricts the patentability of Pharmaceutical formulas and compounds. However, a patent application can be filed for processes related to the manufacture of pharmaceuticals. A patent may get canceled if it has not worked during the five-year period following its date of granting. IRIPO requires the patent applications to be translated into the Persian language. GPF can assist in efficiently and promptly, using accurate translations, filing of patent applications.
